Mt Baw Baw is Melbourne's closest full scale alpine resort. It has facilities for downhill and cross country skiing, snow boarding, tobogganing and snow play in a small village atmosphere. Mt St Gwinear is a smaller, closer, and less expensive snow play destination for day visits. However because of its lower altitude, snow conditions may not always be suitable. It is only 30 minutes away via the Thomson Valley Road. (Parks Victoria, Ph 13 1963) >
